Aircall's public API makes it easy for developers to build integrations with a business phone system. Voice communication is an important tool that many software products can integrate with easily.

As a company, Aircall is growing.

It’s growing in terms of employees, popularity, and most noticeably, in terms of valuation.

Just last month, Aircall announced a $65 million Series C fundraise, and true to the company’s mission, a large portion of that cash will go towards building a robust and diverse ecosystem of integrations.

Aircall sees this “crossover” functionality between apps as one of the greatest resources to customers. Simple but powerful exchanges of information between business tools are what make work more productive and (hopefully) more enjoyable for users.

Building a developers’ paradise

Aircall’s Product and Engineering team ensures the core product has the desired features and flawless functionality that customers demand. But if Aircall is going to become the most well-integrated voice solution on the market, we’ll need to do as The Beatles say and get a little help from our friends.

With this in mind, Aircall is launching two brand new developer resources, designed to promote innovation on top of our voice-platform using the newly revamped public API.

  1. 1. A developer-dedicated website that helps developers leverage the power and building blocks available through Aircall’s API

  2. 2. An “innovation” branch of the product: Aircall Labs. This revolutionary concept embraces the developer spirit by offering free, experimental apps to active Aircall customers.

Through its simple and flexible public API and frameworks, programmers can develop integrations that significantly enhance the performance and capabilities of support agents and sales professionals, ultimately allowing for enriched customer experiences. Aircall provides a solid voice-foundation for other business productivity tools to build with to meet their individual needs and maximize the value they experience.

Aircall’s tech co-founder and Developer Advocate, Xavier Durand, explains why integrations are so important to the company’s mission and future success:

“Since 2014, Aircall has grown significantly, helping thousands of business teams operate with greater collaboration, flexibility, and efficiency. Our Series C fundraise will only accelerate our mission of reinventing the phone system.

As we’ve seen with our CRM and Helpdesk integrations, business tools are much more effective when integrated with other cloud-based apps, and create a more productive way to communicate. Through our Public API, we’re eager to easily facilitate more integrations that are going to impact the bottom lines for our partners and improve the experience for their customers.

For example, AI and transcription integrations can provide insights on users’ conversations, while quality assurance integrations can provide advanced reporting, and the addition of survey tools can better understand customer satisfaction rates.”

A fully revamped developer experience

The new set of resources launching today will serve as a hub for partners and developers looking for complete API documentation, content, and tutorials that make it simple to build the best tools for your needs, plus instructions on how to release completed projects on the Aircall Marketplace.

Making room for experimentation

In addition to the more than 80 partnerships that are already seeing value from integrations built on Aircall’s Public API, Aircall Labs is an initiative to develop fun and delightful “experience apps.”

A weather app—that lets users know the current weather of the location on the other end of the phone—will be the first app in Aircall Labs. Its code will be open-sourced, showing developers how to build apps on top of Aircall,  from concept to completion.

The goal is to provide a risk free setting for developers to build cool projects on top of Aircall’s voice platform, but also show the developer-community how simple and easy to navigate the Aircall API really is.

Nicolas Grenié, Developer Advocate at Typeform, explains what the experience of working with the Aircall API was like:

“While Typeform’s software had the ability to create beautiful surveys and gather responses, it lacked a native feature to quickly connect with leads and customers over the phone.

Aircall’s API allowed us to build an integration for our users to call respondents soon after they fill out a form, and take action to increase response rates and customer engagement!”

And while you’re at it, don’t forget to try out “Dark Mode” in the navigation-bar up top — a special homage to popular developer preferences!
