Phone numbers wherever you need them

Local or geographic numbers are numbers that are assigned to a specific geographic region or a city. For example London or Madrid. These numbers are typically used by local businesses.

National numbers are phone numbers that are not region-specific and are designed to be reachable from an entire country at the same cost. Since national phone numbers are not tied to a specific geographic location the geodata for a national number is usually listed as the country in incoming calls.

Toll-free numbers are numbers that are free of charge to call from the caller's side. The receiving party will pay charges on behalf of their customer to receive calls. Toll-free numbers are only reachable from within the country they are located in, thus with the same country prefix. In some cases, you may be able to extend the reachability. Toll-free numbers are also available in ranges, most commonly as +1-844-XXX-XXXX, or 888, 866, etc.

Mobile numbers are assigned by country and in specific ranges so that they can be easily distinguished from local numbers. Please note that mobile numbers are not available for every country, as detailed in the table above.

In many cases you will be able to purchase a number outside of your country location. However, there may be restrictions imposed by individual countries’ regulations, and you might be asked to provide a local address to obtain a local phone number. Yes. As explained above, purchasing international numbers may be limited by local regulations, but if not, you’ll be able to purchase numbers in any location with your Aircall plan.
